Approved Surf School Operators
The City & County of Swansea have vetted and authorised the  following school to operate at Caswell Bay.

Approved surf schools should be: 

  • identifiable
  • employ qualified staff who are CRB checked
  • adequately insured
  • accredited
  • use suitable and safe equipment
  • have health & safety procedures

All approved surf school lead instructors are issued with a photographic ID badge which stipulates the date of validity of their permit. If you are unsure, it is your right to ask to see it.

Four of Swansea's main beaches are patrolled by lifeguards. Further Information

Caswell, Langland/Rotherslade, Swansea Bay and Port Eynon/Horton beaches are patrolled by RNLI lifeguards during the summer season.

Lifeguard patrols:

Caswell - 29 April to 4 Sept - 7 days 10am-6pm 

Three Cliffs - 8 to 23 April 7 days, 10am -  6pm
                      29 April, weekends until half term, full time at half term then weekends until 1 July
                      1 July - 4th Sept 7 days 10am - 6pm

Langland/Rotherslade - 29 April to 4 Sept - 7 days 10am-6pm 

Swansea Bay - 1 Jul to 4 Sept 7 days 10am-6pm 

Port Eynon/Horton - From 29 April (weekends only) 10am-6pm, then 7 days from 27 May to 6 Sept 10am-6pm 

Lifeguards will be on patrol between the red and yellow flags from 10.00am to 6.00pm every day, and will be available for advice if people are unsure about tides or bathing conditions.
